We recently tested an encrypting software on a Flash Drive from EncryptStick and we liked it. Its pretty good tool to secure your sensitive files, internet passwords and more.
What is Encryptstick:
Its an encrypting software with which you create virtual, encrypted, locked down vaults on any storage media, like your hard drive, cd, portable drives. Anything you put in these vaults are secured.
You can access the vaults and the doc in them only after you plug in the flash drive with the encryptstick s/w plus a master password.
Once you plug out the flash drive the vaults, no matter where the vaults are, on a cd or a flash drive ir on your laptop, they (the vaults) remain inaccessible and invisible.
Plus EncryptStick has a password manager to store passwords which also prevents key stroke loggers from logging your passwords you enter to access online banking accounts and such from a public computer.
What EncryptStick is not:
Its not an antivirus or antispyware. So you still need those to protect yourself from viruses and spyware.
What EncryptStick Doesn’t Do:
It won’t encrypt your entire laptop/pc. It will only encrypt and protect the files/docs that you place in the vaults. You can create unlimited number of vaults. But you will need to place your files in those vaults to be encrypted.
If you need to use public computers to handle any kind of sensitive information, and most definitely if you use them for online banking, you should consider taking advantage of EncryptStick’s powerful Password Management feature.
Who Can Benefit from it:
Road Warriors – Most stolen or misplaced laptops happen at the airport security check points. If you travel often and you have sensitive data on your laptop, you would definitely love to have EncryptStick.
If you use public computers to access your online banking, investment or personal data. Encryptstick’s powerful password management helps protect your passwords plus prevents your passwords from being copied by key stroke logging trojans.
How Much It Costs:
EncryptStick costs $39.99, licensed to one USB flash-drive. It is compatible with both PCs and Macs. Plus they have 20% Off offer going on now with Coupon code: AMW200920
